Doug Pederson met with the media on Friday and confirmed that star wide receiver Alshon Jeffery will have surgery to repair a Lisfranc injury to his foot.
According to Jeff McLane of The Inquirer, Jeffery’s timetable for return from surgery to correct a Lisfranc foot injury is roughly 9 months, which means Alshon’s recovery and rehab will run into the beginning of the 2020 NFL season.
“He would want to get it done quickly so he can get on a rehab schedule,” Pederson said.
Jeffery was injured during a non-contact play in the second quarter of the Eagles Monday night win over the New York Giants.
Pederson said it was too early to speculate on Jeffery’s possible return, but this news likely ensures that the Eagles will likely address the wide receiver position via the draft or free agency.
