The Philadelphia Eagles are interviewing Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Nick Sirianni for their vacant head coach role on Tuesday, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.
The Eagles are on the lookout for a new head coach after they parted ways with Doug Pederson earlier this month. It has been a bit surprising that Sirianni hasn’t gotten a call for an interview yet given his work with the Colts offense under Frank Reich.
Sirianni has been the offensive coordinator since joining the staff under Reich during the 2018 offseason. Though Reich handles the play-calling duties, Sirianni has a big hand in developing the scheme and working through the week-to-week process.
Sirianni had a request to interview two years ago with the Cleveland Browns but nothing came of it. Given his relationship with Reich, who was the offensive coordinator when the Eagles made their Super Bowl run in 2017.
The Colts are certainly getting a lot of attention between their two coordinators and a number of their executives, but this will be something to watch over the next week or so.
