The Philadelphia Eagles appear firmly prepared to enter the 2020 NFL season with Nate Sudfeld as the No. 2 quarterback behind Carson Wentz.
Sudfeld hasn’t played much, but his name obviously carries respect around the NFL and during a recent ranking of every quarterback situation in the NFL by SI.com, the Eagles landed right outside the top-10 at No. 11.
Depth chart: Carson Wentz, Nate Sudfeld, Kyle Lauletta
Despite the unfortunate timing of his playoff injury, Wentz managed to have his moment in Philadelphia last year, going for 10 touchdowns and 1 interception over the final five games with a decimated receiving corps to push the Eagles into the playoffs. His history of gutting injuries shouldn’t unfairly skew the fact that, at age 27, he is locked into a manageable long-term deal with a good head coach and a roster that should rebound.
With some teams having more than one solid quarterback on the roster, the ranking speaks volumes about Carson Wentz’s standing in the NFL.
The top-10 consisted of the Cardinals, Tom Brady’s Buccaneers landed at nine followed by Falcons, Saints, and the Houston Texans.
The top-5 quarterback situations consisted of the Baltimore Ravens, Dallas Cowboys, Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers, and the Kansas City Chiefs in the top spot.
