Eagles land at No. 1 in an ESPN three-year power rankings projection for all 32 NFL teams

Philadelphia has the league’s top roster and the Eagles landed at No. 1 in an ESPN three-year power rankings projection for all 32 NFL teams

The Eagles have a loaded roster for 2023, and thanks to some creative team building by GM Howie Roseman, Philadelphia is set up for long-term success and sustainability.

ESPN had a panel of experts — Dan Graziano, Louis Riddick, and Seth Walder — rate each team’s quarterback situation, remaining (non-QB) roster, drafting ability/capital, front office, and coaching using a select scale:

  • 100: A+ (Elite)
  • 90: A (Great)
  • 80: B (Very good)
  • 70: C (Average)
  • 60: D (Very bad)
  • 50 and below: F (Disastrous)

After averaging out the results, the five categories were combined to create the overall score: roster (30%), quarterback (20%), draft (15%), front office (15%), and coaching (20%).

The rankings mapped out each team’s long-term success over the next three years, and Philadelphia landed at No. 1 on the list.

1. Philadelphia Eagles
Overall score: 94.1

CATEGORY SCORE NFL RANK
Overall roster (minus QB) 97.0 1
Quarterback 94.7 4
Coaching 89.7 7
Draft 89.3 2
Front office 98.0 1

The only concerns center on a potential Super Bowl hangover, and the NFL’s most demanding schedule, but there’s no doubt that the Eagles will be a team to watch as the season progresses.
