After their somewhat embarrassing loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 16 knocked them out of the playoffs, the Philadelphia Eagles have very little to play for in Week 17 against the Washington Football Team. Because of this, they’ve introduced a motivation tactic that is…less than inspiring in order to get the team hyped and ready to come out and play hard.
With a win, Washington can clinch the NFC East division and make it to their first postseason since 2015. At the moment, the only success that the Eagles can have is finding a way to stop that from happening. To emphasize that goal, defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz implemented a ‘no hat rule’ for the team.
Jim Schwartz says the Eagles have a "no hat rule" this weekend, meaning they don't want to see Washington put on NFC East champion hats at the Linc.

We have some questions…
Does that mean that no players in Philly are allowed to wear hats this week? Or does it just apply to Washington on Sunday night? Do beanies count? What about helmets… those are technically hats, no? Does this rule not extend to the week of practice? What happens if it’s cold on Sunday and players on the sidelines need to keep their heads warm?
Let’s hope that Schwartz has some answers, because if not, his motivational tactics may be as flimsy as the Eagles’ reasons to play hard on Sunday night against Washington.
