James Bradberry spent part of training camp and the preseason getting reps at the slot cornerback, allowing the defensive coordinator to make Philadelphia’s defense even more versatile.
With Avonte Maddox on injured reserve after suffering a torn pec, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni talked about rolling with an “in-house” option.
That could mean second-year cornerback Mario Goodrich, who replaced Maddox during Thursday night’s win over Minnesota.
The choice for Sunday’s matchup and on obvious passing downs is Bradberry, which would allow Josh Jobe to flourish on the outside.
Bradberry missed the Week 2 win over the Vikings with a concussion.
Still, during his first practice back, the cornerback was coached by nickel cornerback coach and Chester, Pennsylvania native Ronell Williams, according to the Inquirer’s Josh Tolentino.
Eagles CB James Bradberry spent the final two periods of today’s open portion of practice working exclusively with nickels coach Ronell Williams.
He rotated reps with Mario Goodrich, who filled in for the injured Avonte Maddox during Week 2 win over Vikings.

Philadelphia has options at the position, and it could also allow rookie safety Sydney Jones to see snaps on select downs.
Justin Evans has experience in the slot and the Eagles could scheme to play more zone on obvious passing downs to protect guys on the backend.
