With Josh McCown’s future uncertain the Eagles needed a backup QB option. McCown could still be an option but he’s months removed from having surgery on his injured hamstring.
Sudfeld was essentially shelved for the season after he suffered a broken wrist during preseason action.
The Eagles could still look to draft another developmental quarterback and could sign a veteran as well to ensure the position is strong behind Carson Wentz.
