The Washington Huskies are, in fact, in the game.
EA Sports released the first trailer for College Football 25 on Friday, bringing the hype for the first college football video game in over a decade to a fever pitch. The trailer focuses mainly on the presentation elements of the game rather than strictly gameplay but still features a number of the most iconic traditions in the sport.
UW makes a brief appearance midway through the trailer in a tunnel sequence for a rainy game inside Husky Stadium. Linebacker Carson Bruener and defensive lineman Jacob Bandes are the featured players with visible nameplates as the Huskies prepare to run out of the tunnel.
The game is the first to make use of the NCAA’s new rules on NIL, allowing players like Bruener and Bandes to opt in to have their likenesses used in the video game. Over 12,000 players across college football have reportedly opted in to the game.
EA also announced a suite of features along with the trailer, including the confirmation of Dynasty, Road to Glory, Ultimate Team, and Road to the College Football Playoff modes. Online dynasty modes and cross-play were also confirmed.
College Football 25 releases July 19th on Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.
