Nebraska Football quarterback Dylan Raiola is getting a history lesson ahead of Saturday’s game against the Colorado Buffaloes. His father, Dominic Raiola, gave his son a bit of motivation earlier in the week.
The older Raiola never lost to Colorado, as he played for Nebraska from 1998-2000. Nebraska defeated Colorado every year during that timeframe and firmly established their dominance in the rivalry.
In the meantime, Dylan will enter the rivalry looking to help secure Nebraska’s first win against Colorado since 2010. The quarterback met with the media on Monday and indicated his father shared that tidbit about the family history with the Buffaloes.
“My dad said he never lost to them. This week he told me, ‘just so you know I never lost to them.’ I know the rivalry runs deep. You have to stay focused on the task at hand. You can’t get caught up in everything else. We just have to worry about playing football and doing our brand of football.”
There will be a lot at stake for Nebraska on Saturday, both in terms of securing a victory and in recruiting. The prime-time lights will be shining upon Lincoln as the Huskers look to make history and put the college football world on notice.
Dylan Raiola says his dad, Dominic, told him he never lost to Colorado.
