The Dying Light series is practically a household name, especially with the latest entry’s most recent sales milestone.
On Friday, Techland announced that Dying Light 2 had sold five million copies by Feb. 28, 2022 — about three weeks after launch. Being one of the best games of the year thus far has its benefits, it seems. Apparently, the numbers are growing each month as well.
Not only that, but the original Dying Light recently surpassed 20 million copies sold. Techland CEO Paweł Marchewka provided a comment regarding the success of the series.
“The success of the Dying Light franchise is a great example of the unforgettable experiences we create for our players,” Marchewka said in a press release.

At release, Dying Light 2 suffered from some questionable mission design and far too many bugs. Thankfully, the technical kinks are getting ironed out through patches. Techland claims that five years’ worth of updates are in store for Dying Light 2, and some extra DLC is already out or on the way soon. New Game Plus mode is one of the additions coming soon.
There’s still no word on the Nintendo Switch port of Dying Light 2, which was delayed last fall before the other versions came out.
