He may have not made the final shot at the end of the night, but the Brooklyn Nets wouldn’t have been in a position to knock off the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday if not for the efforts of Caris LeVert on Friday.
The Nets wing scored 37 points on 16 of 29 shooting (1-for-3 from deep, 4-for-4 at the free-throw line). On top of his scoring, LeVert also had nine assists, six rebounds and a blocked shot.
LeVert showed up on a national stage and caught the attention of NBA fans and impressed Damian Lillard, who went off for the Portland Trail Blazers himself.
But LeVert didn’t just impress one of the game’s current superstars, he also caught the eye of an NBA legend: Dwyane Wade.
The three-time NBA champ took to Twitter as LeVert went off, writing:
Caris LeVert is a young monster!!!

LeVert gets to show off on a national stage again on Monday when the Nets go to work against the Toronto Raptors in the first round of the 2020 NBA Playoffs.
