LAS VEGAS – With his focus entirely on fighting now, [autotag]Oban Elliott[/autotag] is ready to make waves in the UFC.
Elliott (9-2) earned a UFC contract Tuesday at Dana White’s Contender Series 59 when he edged out Kaik Brito (16-5) by majority decision.
A railroad worker, Eliott hasn’t been able to fully focus on fighting. But now that he’s a UFC fighter, he plans on changing that.
“As I go full time now, fighting in the best fighting organization in the world where I can put everything into it, my dream’s come true,” Elliott told MMA Junkie and other reporters at the UFC Apex. “I have a feeling I’m going to have a f*cking special run. If any of my past is to go by, I’m not going to take no for an answer in the UFC, just like I’ve not took no for an answer in life.”
Wales’ Elliott wouldn’t call anyone out for his UFC debut but issued a stern warning to the welterweight division that he’s coming.
“You better be good,” Elliott said, “whoever I’m fighting next because I’m a f*cking nightmare. As ol’ uncle Chael says, I’m that kid at the wrestling that just don’t go away. If you beat me once, you’ll have to beat me again for me to even accept it.”
