Washington Redskins starting quarterback Dwayne Haskins has a big challenge in front of him coming out of the bye.

The Gregg Williams-led New York Jets defense is a problem for any quarterback.

Part of this stems from the challenge that is elite Jets safety Jamal Adams, as noted by Zach Selby of the team’s official website: “Haskins said the Jets are a very active defense and safety Jamal Adams makes a lot of plays.”

Not only did Adams and the Jets defense just help the Jets take down the Giants, Adams himself now has 52 tackles, three sacks, two forced fumbles and six passes defensed with an interception.

Altogether, the Jets are a massive hurdle:

Haskins’ handling of easing into the starting role for what is presumably the rest of the season has been nothing short of encouraging.

But the Jets test happens on the field, not on the media sheets. The next step is to see if the worthwhile work and prep translate to better understanding what defenses are throwing at Haskins.
