Duke women’s basketball moves up to 13th in USA TODAY Sports coaches poll

The Duke Blue Devils moved up one spot to 13th in the USA TODAY Sports women’s basketball coaches poll.

The Duke women’s basketball team took down yet another ranked opponent on Monday afternoon, a 73-62 victory over the Kansas State Wildcats powered by a 30-point performance from Ashlon Jackson.

As a result, the Blue Devils moved up one spot to 13th in the updated USA TODAY Sports women’s basketball coaches poll on Tuesday.

Among the other ACC teams, only the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (No. 3) finished higher than Duke in the new rankings. The Blue Devils remained one spot above the North Carolina Tar Heels, who also moved up one place to 14th, but Kansas State somehow remained above Duke at 12th.

With the South Carolina Gamecocks losing their first game since the 2022-23 season, the Connecticut Huskies moved up to the top overall spot. The Gamecocks slipped down to fifth with the UCLA Bruins, Fighting Irish, and Texas Longhorns above them.

Duke plays the No. 8 Oklahoma Sooners in the Ball Dawgs Classic title game on Wednesday, and the Blue Devils travel to South Carolina for a December 5 game against the Gamecocks.
