Duke baseball player Chad Knight went viral on social media for a fun little joke on Tuesday.
Knight, whose collegiate career came to an end when Oklahoma eliminated the Blue Devils from the Norman Regional on Sunday, wrote that, while he can’t play on the field anymore, he can gamble on college sports now.
“Goodbye college baseball,” Knight wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. “Hello Draftkings.”
NCAA regulations of course prevent current student-athletes from gambling on themselves or other teams, but Knight no longer needs to maintain any eligibility with his senior season concluded and Duke’s graduation ceremony in the rearview mirror.
The post gathered more than 6,000 likes by 6:30 p.m. Eastern time with the (now former) Blue Devil joking in the replies about betting on the Little League World Series and creating generational wealth for himself. DraftKings itself even got in on the fun with a reply.

Knight also toyed with the idea of betting on every remaining ACC baseball team to win their Super Regional matchup.

Knight spent five seasons with the Blue Devils and finished with a career batting average of .264 with eight home runs and 61 RBIs across 137 career games.
He played in 18 games this past season and put together a career-high .316 average in his last collegiate season.
