Drew Lock ‘super pumped’ about new weapons on offense

“We have a lot of work to put together,” Drew Lock said of the Broncos’ offense.

Broncos general manager John Elway has surrounded quarterback Drew Lock with plenty of weapons.

Elway signed running back Melvin Gordon during free agency and added wide receivers Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler and tight end Albert Okwuegbunam — one of Lock’s favorite college targets — during the draft.

Elway also signed guard Graham Glasgow and drafted center Lloyd Cushenberry, two players that will help shore up the team’s offensive line.

“I’m super pumped about the guys we added to this squad,” Lock said during a Zoom conference call with reporters on Tuesday. “You talked about the first guys with Melvin and Graham — two experienced players to help this offense start rolling early when the season starts.”

Lock is also excited about the “young, extremely, extremely talented players” Elway drafted but he noted that there’s still work to be done.

“Nothing’s in fine ink right now as far as wins and losses just because of the people we drafted,” Lock said. “We have a lot of work to put together and hopefully be on our A-game every single Sunday.”

The Broncos are hoping to start training camp on time in late July. That might be the first time Lock gets to work with his new teammates.
