Drew Lock: ‘Nothing has been promised’ regarding Seahawks new QB1

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Drew Lock says nothing has been promised when it comes to being named the starting QB1.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Drew Lock took to the podium to address the local media on Monday and was asked some very probing questions. Most importantly . . . has he been informed as to whether or not he’s being named Seattle’s starting signal-caller.

Nothing has been promised as I would want,” Lock responded. “I’d want them to come in here and tell me, I need to earn it. Tell me I need to come in and work, tell me I need to come in and compete. I need to play well.”

Lock was one of three players the Seahawks received along with draft picks in the trade that sent quarterback Russell Wilson to the Broncos. With Seattle having yet to sign another quarterback during free agency and the draft still a month away, who exactly will be named the Seahawks’ QB1 remains a mystery.

“There’s a lot of things that I need to do to show this organization that I should be the one taking those snaps,” Lock continued. “But right now, nothing is promised.

“It’s just my job to come in and work extremely hard and compete for that starting job.
