Drew Lock defenders are in full retreat after bad showing vs. LA

The cruelest thing in the world is getting what you wished for.

The cruelest thing in the world is getting what you wished for. Some Seahawks fans got a reminder of this yesterday. After starting quarterback Geno Smith went down with an elbow injury late in the third quarter, backup Drew Lock came into the game.

While Lock has a surplus of arm talent and natural athleticism, he hasn’t been able to put it all together at this level as of yet. In his brief action against the Rams, it became clear that he still has a long way to go in his development before he’s ready to start for an NFL team.

Observer Lock underthrowing Tyler Lockett on a go route, resulting in an easy interception for the DB, handing over possession to the Rams for what would be the game-winning scoring drive.

The other throws that Lock made weren’t much better. He finished 2/6 for a total of three passing yards, a 2.8 passer rating and a 1.5 QBR.

Now those same Seattle fans who spent the last several weeks calling for Smith to be replaced by Lock are awfully quiet on social media. Instead, what we see is a torrent of harsh criticism for No. 2. Here’s what they’re saying on the hellsite.
