Drew Beam earned a pair of honors when the Southeastern Conference announced its weekly awards Monday.
Beam was named SEC Pitcher of the Week and SEC Freshman of the Week after his performance at No. 5 Vanderbilt.
No. 1 Tennessee defeated Vanderbilt, 5-0, Sunday.
Beam, a native of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, threw a complete-game, two-hit shutout to help the Vols sweep Vanderbilt and keep its perfect conference record intact.
Beam faced one batter over the minimum, improving to 6-0 on the season. He has 29 strikeouts this year.
Beam has pitched at least 7.1 innings in each of his SEC starts in 2022.
