The 2025 NFL Draft doesn’t present the most promising class of quarterbacks at the moment, with Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Miami’s Cam Ward the only probable candidates to be drafted in the first round right now.
However, The Athletic’s Dane Brugler hinted that a certain quarterback at Penn State could wind up turning this spring’s draft on its head.
Brugler shared on Tuesday night that there is a belief among several NFL general managers that Nittany Lions quarterback Drew Allar could declare for this year’s draft “with a strong playoff run.”
I know Drew Allar "intends" to return to Penn St. in 2025.
But…
There are several NFL GMs who believe Allar could enter the 2025 NFL Draft with a strong playoff run. Teams are still heavily scouting him for the 2025 class.

Penn State’s standing in the College Football Playoff put Allar on the national stage, and he could catapult high into the 2025 NFL Draft standings by putting out good postseason tape.
The 2026 quarterback is expected to be more ballyhooed, so Allar could get a jumpstart on his NFL career by leaving school now for the pros.
As of now, Allar reportedly intends to return to Penn State for another year, but things can change quickly.
Don’t be shocked if Allar joins Sanders and Ward as one of the marquee names available for NFL teams in the upcoming draft.
