UNC football quarterback Drake Maye is coming off a game in which he set a career-high in completions, attempts, and passing yards while tying a career-high with five touchdowns. Maye was huge for the Tar Heels in the win over Pitt, helping get UNC to 7-1 and 4-0 in the ACC.
As Maye earned ACC weekly honors for his play, he’s also drawing more national attention.
On Monday, Maye was named the Maxwell Award Player of the Week for week 9 after his big performance. It’s the second time Maye has been named the Maxwell Award Player of the Week award this season.

In addition to the weekly award, Maye has also been named a semi-finalist for the Maxwell Player of the Year award.
If Maye continues this pace, he could force his way into the Heisman conversation. That would especially be the case if the Tar Heels keep winning and can run the table en route to an ACC title as well.
