USC fans waited a long time to see former Trojan star Drake London make his NFL debut.
They got their wish on Friday as the Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions faced off. London got started early, too, with a 24-yard catch in the first quarter from Marcus Mariota. It was his first catch in a live NFL game.
Unfortunately, that would end up being his only catch of the game. He left the game with a knee injury, and the Falcons reported that he would be out for the remainder of the contest in Detroit.
His first catch was terrific. He flashed his considerable skill set as Mariota hit him with a perfect pass.

But that would be all for his debut. On the bright side, it doesn’t appear to be a significant injury, and London came out of the medical tent and was walking on the sidelines shortly after.
Drake London is walking around the sideline so whatever the issue is it doesn't appear to be too serious.

Still, this isn’t what Falcon fans and the franchise were hoping for in London’s debut, although he wasn’t going to play many snaps anyway.
We will keep an eye on the severity of London’s injury, but as of now, it doesn’t appear to be anything serious. Falcon fans and USC fans can take a deep breath and hope London is ready to go for the next preseason game.
Yet, it can’t be ignored that London, after a 2021 season cut short by injury, suffered a slight injury nine minutes into his first preseason game in 2022. He looked outstanding on this catch, but fears about durability will persist as a result of this occurrence, even though the Falcons are being appropriately cautious.
