The Philadelphia 76ers entered the 2005 NBA Draft looking to build off a playoff appearance led by Allen Iverson and Chris Webber. They fell in five games into the Detroit Pistons, but they did take Game 1 and they gave a much better team a scare.

Philadelphia did not have a first-round pick in 2005, but they did have the 45th pick. They went after high school product Lou Williams who needed some development before he could become a rotational player.

He only played in 30 games as a rookie and averaged 1.9 points and then followed that up by averaging 4.3 points in his second season. He then broke out in his third season averaging 11.5 points. He was a major part of the playoff teams in both 2011 and 2012.

Williams has since gone on to win three 6th Man of the Year awards and has become one of the best 6th Men in NBA history. He has played for the Atlanta Hawks, Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, and is now with the Los Angeles Clippers. He would be a great addition to the current Sixers as they would need the spacing. [lawrence-related id=38084,38074,38075]
