The Philadelphia 76ers entered the 2016 NBA Draft with some big fortunes on their side. Following a dreadful 2015-16 season where the team went 10-72, they landed the number 1 overall pick in the lottery for the right to draft LSU phenom, Ben Simmons.

Simmons just finished up a college season with the Tigers averaging 19.2 points, 11.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 2.0 steals as he did it all for them. His all-around game had made him the clear cut number 1 overall pick and the Sixers were able to land him with the pick.

He missed the entirety of his rookie season after suffering an injury in camp, but when he finally made his debut to begin the 2017-18 season, he did not disappoint. He averaged 15.8 points, 8.2 assists, and 8.1 rebounds on his way to winning Rookie of the Year. He also averaged 16.3 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 7.7 assists in the playoffs.

Simmons has since followed that up with two All-Star appearances and he has now added an appearance on the All-Defensive First Team and the All-NBA Third Team. The sky is the limit for Simmons as he is continuing to develop his game. Philadelphia missed him a lot in the playoffs this season as he had to undergo surgery on his left knee.
