Down Goes No. 1: Twitter reacts to Arkansas’ upset win over KU

“Just like football!!”

If you thought the first round of the tournament had all the drama, you didn’t have to wait long for some more pandemonium.

After leading by 10 points in the second half, Kansas allowed the Arkansas Razorbacks to go on an 11-0 run to take the lead. Ultimately the lower-seeded team held off the defending national champions, 72-71. This is the second time in the 2022-23 college sports calendar Arkansas ended KU’s season. The Razorbacks claimed a thrilling, 55-53, overtime victory in the Liberty Bowl in football.

The Jayhawks had an opportunity to tie the game, but Jalen Wilson inadvertently made a shot that needed to hit the rim and stay out, giving KU a chance to rebound it and get a shot to tie the game with a few seconds left.

As expected, social media was in a frenzy after the game went final.
