Dorktown produces 7-part documentary on Vikings history

Jon Bois and Alex Rubenstein of Secret Base’s Dorktown have created a documentary on the history of the Minnesota Vikings.

The Minnesota Vikings are a fascinating organization to study. They have over a dozen Hall of Fame players, multiple outrageous scandals and numerous gut-wrenching heartbreaks over their 62 seasons.

That history caught the eye of the creators of Dorktown, Jon Bois and Alex Rubenstein of SB Nation, when they were creating a documentary about the Atlanta Falcons. Bois and Rubenstein went on to create a seven-part documentary on the history of the Vikings.

In a press release from Vox Media, they announced the documentary will debut on Aug. 1.

“‘The History of the Minnesota Vikings’ is a story for people who don’t watch football,” stated Bois, an executive producer at Secret Base who was called the “poet laureate of sports statistics” by The New York Times. “But if you are a football fan, and especially a Vikings fan, you’ll be just as amazed to witness all the pieces of this team’s history and identity come together.”

The documentary is sure to expose the masses to the multiple insane stories about the Vikings that don’t seem real.
