LeBron James won his fourth NBA title Sunday when the Lakers beat the Miami Heat in Game 6 down in the Orlando bubble.
LeBron made more history, too, as he became the first player to win three NBA Finals MVPs with three different teams – the Heat, Cavs, and Lakers.
And now you know what’s coming, right? Morning yelling sports shows are going to be going all in on the GOAT debate – LeBron or MJ.
Ugh.
This debate has been going on for years and it’s usually absolutely mind-numbing and silly, with TV yellers arguing points that don’t matter and can’t be fairly compared.
There are going to be times over the next few days where you might get sucked into one of these debates, or get heated about it on Twitter, or find yourself yelling at your TV about it.
Here’s the thing you should do – pay this debate no mind. Just walk away from it. You don’t need this in your life.
LeBron James is a great basketball player who has done amazing things in his career and will forever be remembered for being a legend.
Michael Jordan is a great basketball player who did amazing things in his career and will forever be remembered for being a legend.
That’s really it.
Why can’t we all just appreciate these two legends for how great they are and were? What LeBron has done since entering the league as a kid has been insane. We’ve been lucky to have him in our lives all these years, playing in all these big games, and doing all these incredible things. Even if you’re rooting against him, you know he’s a special player who only comes around so often.
Jordan was the exact same way. We were all lucky to have him in our lives for so many years and it stunk when he finally did walk away.
It’s going to stink when LeBron walks away, too, even if you’re one of those fans who says you can’t stand him.
Forget about the debate and just celebrate the greatness. It’s OK to do that and will make you feel a lot better than those TV yellers.
LeBron and Jordan. Both great. The end.
