If the NBA is able to play out the rest of the 2019-20 season in some form or fashion, one team that was initially expected to benefit from playing deep into the summer was the Brooklyn Nets.
It seemed that pushing games back would allow Kevin Durant to get back to full strength by the time play resumed. Especially when considering the videos of Durant’s rehab that surfaced before the break gave.
Additionally, this hiatus would also give Kyrie Irving (right shoulder surgery) a chance to return for the remainder of 2019-20.
But Nets general manager Sean Marks doesn’t think it’s fair to put that sort of timeline on Brooklyn’s two stars, per to Malika Andrews of ESPN.
Durant and Irving are still able to rehab. Though, Marks told reporters on a conference call on Wednesday “this hiatus has set their rehabilitation back,” per Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News.
