Don’t expect any early prime-time games for Cardinals, if any

While Kyler Murray is out, don’t anticipate the Cardinals to get any nationally televised games.

The NFL schedule release will occur Thursday night. It will be then that we find out if the Arizona Cardinals have any prime-time games and how many there are.

However, in 2023, teams are not guaranteed a prime-time game.

Since the Cardinals are not expected to be good and quarterback Kyler Murray is expected to miss at least the start of the season, combined with the fact that the team does not have a large national following, have no games in prime time is a real possibility.

At minimum, fans should not expect to see the Cardinals in prime time for at least the first half of the season.

After an expected Murray return, he has the star power to perhaps draw a prime-time game. Perhaps going against the Philadelphia Eagles in a reunion game for head coach Jonathan Gannon.

It would be Gannon’s return to Philly and Murray vs. Jalen Hurts, both former Oklahoma quarterbacks.

Divisional showdowns also are worthwhile battles.

So if the Cardinals get any evening games, expect them to come sometime in the second half of the season.
