Donovan Peoples-Jones will find some familiar faces when he finally gets to Cleveland. The Browns’ sixth-round draft pick already knows new teammates and position-mates Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr.
Peoples-Jones said he met both during the draft process but has already spent some quality time with Landry. The Michigan wideout trained in Florida for the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine and got to know Landry.
“It is great because I actually got a chance to meet both of them,” Peoples-Jones said during his post-draft conference call. “I was getting some tips from Jarvis while I was down in Florida training for the NFL Combine. Me and him have started to develop our relationship. Those guys are Pro Bowl guys. I just can’t wait to learn from them.”
The Browns’ sixth-round pick has a great chance to be the No. 3 receiver in Cleveland right away. Peoples-Jones is ready to fight for his chance after unexpectedly dropping farther than projected in the draft.
“Personally, I love competition,” Peoples-Jones said. “Personally, I rise when the competition rises. Those are two of the best receivers in the NFL. I am so thankful for this opportunity to come to Cleveland. I really can’t wait.”
