If the 2-7 Jets beat the 3-7 Dolphins, New York will jump its division rivals and move out of last place. But if the Jets lose, they’ll sink further down the NFL standings and closer to a top pick in the 2022 draft.
The Dolphins offer a puzzling matchup. While they’re among the worst teams in the NFL, they’ll be 10 days removed from a 22-10 upset win over the Ravens, Miami’s second consecutive victory. The Dolphins also beat New England in Week 1. But between that, they lost seven consecutive games, including a couple of blowouts.
The Jets, however, are nowhere near close to figuring out their own season. The defense is the worst in the league and the offense isn’t consistent despite some solid recent performances.
