Dolphins vs. Bucs 2022 Preseason Week 1 odds: Miami favored by 1.5 points

Miami might be without their QB, and Tampa Bay will definitely be without theirs.

After a long offseason, the Miami Dolphins are finally set to start their 2022 preseason journey, the first under head coach Mike McDaniel, as they gear up to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium.

According to Tipico Sportsbook, Miami is currently a 1.5-point favorite for the matchup. They’re also favorites on the moneyline, as their victory is set at -120. The over/under for the contest is 31.5 points.

While the Dolphins are expected to have a pretty similar defense to last year’s, which was dominant down the stretch, and an improved offense with new weapons, it’s unclear whether or not quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will get the nod from McDaniel to play.

We’ve already been made aware that Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady will not be suiting up this weekend, which is a key factor in Miami being favorites at the moment.

If the Dolphins do play a fair number of their starters for a few drives, they should be able to see some signs of success, and they’ve looked solid in their joint practices this week. If not, and Teddy Bridgewater is throwing to Erik Ezukanma and Preston Williams as his top two options, this battle will be a lot more difficult for the team in aqua and orange.

The two teams will face off on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
