The one-win Miami Dolphins enter their game with the one-win Houston Texans minus their starting quarterback.
Tua Tagovailoa will be reduced to a backup role Sunday as the struggling teams meet in the Sunshine State.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting the former Alabama star has a small fracture in the middle finger of his throwing hand.
Tua Tagovailoa’s fractured middle finger is not expected to keep him out long-term. However, with a quick turnaround for Thursday Night Football this week, his status for Week 10 against the Ravens now also is in question. https://t.co/6gTeQCZ6rZ

That will turn the honors over to Jacoby Brissett, who will face the Texans’ Tyrod Taylor in a battle of journeymen.
Tagovailoa likely will only play in an emergency situation Sunday, according to sources, but is expected to dress as the backup because the Dolphins are shorthanded at the position, after quarterback Reid Sinnett recently was claimed off waivers by the Philadelphia Eagles.
