Yesterday, millions celebrated the most powerful, influential and impactful women in their lives on Mother’s Day — our annual reminder to say thank you for all of the love and support our moms have provided from the moment they brought us into the world. For newly acquired Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, his mother Diane is no exception — his family packed up and moved from Hawaii to help and support Tua in his pursuit of the NFL, a journey that culminated last month when the Dolphins drafted the left-handed passer with the 5th-overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft.
With his journey to the NFL now complete and financial security for he and his family secured, Tagovailoa went above and beyond on Mother’s Day to ensure his mom got a great token of love and appreciation — the Dolphins quarterback bought his mother an Escalade.

These journeys to the NFL are often long, challenging and require a lot of sacrifice. It never stops being cool to see a player gives back to his family and those who helped him along the way — so kudos to Tua for making sure his mom definitely felt the love on her day yesterday.
Tagovailoa has not formally signed his contract with the Dolphins, but the rookie wage scale dictates he’ll be due somewhere around $30.3M over the first four years of his rookie deal with the Dolphins — we have a feeling he’ll be able to take the purchase of his mom’s Escalade in stride.
