A day after parting with defensive lineman Teair Tart, the Miami Dolphins replaced him on the roster with second-year defensive tackle Robert Cooper on Wednesday.
Cooper, 24, is a Florida State alum who signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2023 and spent his rookie training camp with the Seahawks and Philadelphia Eagles.
Prior to his time in a pair of NFL camps, Cooper was a 2022 All-ACC Honorable Mention and finished his Seminoles career with 12.5 tackles for loss and two sacks.
The Dolphins signed several defensive linemen to one-year deals in free agency after allowing both Christian Wilkins and Raekwon Davis to leave in free agency. For now, newcomers Calais Campbell and Benito Jones are listed as starters with Jonathan Harris, Neville Gallimore, Da’Shawn Hand, and Brandon Pili among those competing for snaps and roster spots.
The deadline for Miami to cut its roster to 53 players is on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
