Dolphins requesting permission to interview Bills OC Brian Daboll

The Dolphins have made their first reported interview request.

After the Miami Dolphins fired Brian Flores early on Monday, they are gearing up to start the interview process to find their next head coach.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Dolphins requested permission from the Buffalo Bills to interview offensive coordinator Brian Daboll for the job.

Dolphins fans may be familiar with Daboll, as he was the team’s offensive coordinator back in 2011.

The 46-year-old has done a lot to help the Bills establish themselves as a contender in the AFC since he joined Sean McDermott’s staff in 2018. He’s also been credited with a lot of Josh Allen’s growth since entering the league, as he’s become a potential MVP candidate in recent years.

Prior to his time with Buffalo, Daboll spent a year at Alabama, where he was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach the year Tua Tagovailoa came in to relieve Jalen Hurts during the national championship. Tagovailoa won the MVP in that game.

The Dolphins aren’t the only team that has requested an interview with Daboll. Chicago has jumped on that boat, and other teams will follow quickly.
