Injuries have provided a rollercoaster of an NFL career so far for Tua Tagovailoa. The former No. 5 overall pick’s latest injury occurred in Week 2 against the Buffalo Bills, fracturing his ribs.
After being placed on IR, Tagovailoa is set to return on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London according to Dolphins head coach Brian Flores. Long-time veteran Jacoby Brissett had been the starter for the past three games.
“I feel good. Happy to be out there with the team again,” Tagovailoa said. “I don’t think it’s 100%, but I’m 100% ready to get back on the field.”
Miami’s offense has been horrible throughout the season, ranking in the bottom two in total yards, passing yards, and rushing yards. Bringing Tagovailoa back into the fold is going to help a ton.
Miami still had to practice on Friday and make sure everything was set before announcing Tagovailoa as the starter. But based on the throws he was making Thursday afternoon, he looks good to go.

Nobody may be happier with the quarterback returning than former Alabama teammate Jaylen Waddle. He’s been off to a slower start than what he’s used to from his time in Tuscaloosa, only having 231 receiving yards on 27 receptions through five games.
“Tua has stepped in and just been him,” Waddle said on Thursday afternoon.
No better time to reconnect than Jacksonville week. Urban Meyer’s squad’s pass defense is ranked No. 26 in passing yards allowed this season. Only one team has thrown for less than 289 yards.
