Mark your calendars, Miami Dolphins fans! There are no assurances that the Miami Dolphins are going to select Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in the 2020 NFL Draft. Heck, the team very well may end up coming on the clock with Tagovailoa off the board if the Detroit Lions decide they need to be blown away to come away with a deal and opt not to draft the quarterback for themselves.
But the Dolphins, with all of their connections to Tagovailoa, will most certainly have their calendars marked for March 9th. Why? Because that is the target date for presumed Dolphins draft target and star quarterback prospect Tua Tagovailoa to get medical clearance as he continues recovery from his late 2019 hip surgery.
Tua Tagovailoa mentions that once he gets clearance from his doctors on March 9, he will be full-go.

No room for misinterpretation here, as Tagovailoa himself confirmed the date before continuing to reveal that the team’s target date for a throwing session for NFL teams is one month later on April 9th.
If it materializes, it will first and foremost be a stunning upset for Tagovailoa in his bid to return to form and possibly be eligible to take the field in 2020. And if that were the case, how Miami chooses to attack the remainder of the pre-draft process is going to be very telling. Miami has been attached to Tagovailoa’s name for more than a year now — if he’s medically cleared and able to throw, Miami’s eagerness to jump into a draft position to finish the job and position themselves to draft them will be a clear indicator on just how much truth there was behind all the rumors and “Tank for Tua” noise in South Florida.
