When was the last time you remember the Miami Dolphins having a household star on their roster? Was it the Brandon Marshall and Reggie Bush era? Perhaps Jason Taylor qualifies — or any of the Ricky Williams stints in South Florida? No matter when the last time was, make no mistake about it; the Dolphins have one on their hands in the here and now. Ultimately new quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is going to have to earn his keep on the field and prove his worthiness as an NFL star — but based off his name, play and reputation at Alabama, the Dolphins are experiencing a full-blown boom of merchandising opportunities and, for the first time in a long time, even some bandwagon fans.
There’s no better proof of Tagovailoa’s star power with the Dolphins than to look to the current best sellers in the NFL jersey department. NFL Shop currently lists Tagovailoa’s aqua jersey as the No. 1 hottest seller in all of football. The No. 2 best selling jersey?
That would be Tagovailoa’s white Dolphins jersey.

You read that correctly — the Dolphins currently own the top two spots in current NFL jersey sales thanks to their new franchise quarterback. There are hoards of new and old Dolphins fans alike ready to declare their support for Miami’s young signal caller. And if Tagovailoa gets on the field and blows the competition out of the water, expect his fanfare to swell even more. Should it come to that, the Dolphins will be vindicated in their decision to take the left-handed passer with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
When we ultimately see Tagovailoa on the field is still up in the air. But one thing we do know in the meantime is that there will be hoards of fans ready to cheer him on when that time finally comes.
