The Miami Dolphins’ infusion of talent continues on Day 3 of the 2020 NFL Draft. The Dolphins have turned into a wheeling and dealing squad throughout the course of this afternoon — and now they’ve brought a specialist into the fray. With the 185th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins have selected LSU long snapper Blake Ferguson.

Long snappers aren’t a sexy pick, nor are they a player that gets a lot of attention. But the best ones are the ones that aren’t noticed because they make the transition to holders and punters seamless.

That’s apparently what the Dolphins are hoping to find in Ferguson, who will attempt to unseat incumbent long snapper Taybor Pepper in 2020. Pepper, of course, was the one to throw long-time Dolphins snapper John Denney from the roster ahead of the start of the 2019 season.

The Dolphins have a few more picks left to make before this is all said and done — will Ferguson be the only specialist added? We’ll know soon enough.
