Dolphins climb in Week 16 power rankings following shutout win

Miami rises up the power rankings after shutting out the Jets.

The Miami Dolphins, with a day less to prepare, earned a victory against the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon, as they completed the season sweep of their AFC East rivals.

Through 15 weeks, Mike McDaniel’s team has put together a 10-4 record, and after Monday, they seem to be getting right after a demoralizing loss the week prior.

With just three games left in the regular season, Touchdown Wire’s Jarrett Bailey has been producing weekly power rankings for the NFL. Last week, following their Monday night collapse against the Tennessee Titans, Miami dropped to No. 7. However, after their most recent win, they’ve jumped back up to No. 5.

Here’s what Bailey had to say about the Dolphins:

“Even without Tyreek Hill, Tua Tagovailoa played a masterful game as Miami shut out the Jets. Now, a tough test awaits them with Dallas up next on the schedule.”

Ahead of Miami, at this point, are the Kansas City Chiefs (No. 4), Buffalo Bills (No. 3), Baltimore Ravens (No. 2) and San Francisco 49ers (No. 1).

The Dolphins moved past the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys, who both lost last week. If Miami beats Dallas this week, they could creep up into one of the top four spots.
