The Miami Dolphins, like the rest of the league, have had a tough week when it comes to COVID-19 tests, as the Dolphins are placing their sixth player on the reserve/COVID list.
According to NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe, Dolphins practice squad running back Gerrid Doaks is joining Jevon Holland, Jaylen Waddle, Myles Gaskin, Salvon Ahmed, and Phillip Lindsay on the COVID list.
Miami’s running back room has been decimated in the last week, as Duke Johnson is now the only healthy, active running back on the roster. Malcolm Brown is nearing a return from injured reserve, but he hasn’t been activated yet, and newly signed backs Dexter Williams and Jordan Scarlett are on the practice squad.
Doaks’ vaccination status isn’t known, but according to the NFL’s new adjustment to the COVID protocols, vaccinated players need just one negative test to return to the team. Now, it’s not totally out of the question for any of the Dolphins to return before Sunday provided that they’re vaccinated.
