The long wait is finally over. The 2020 NFL Draft wrapped up nearly two weeks ago and in the time that has passed since, the Dolphins have been oddly mum on what numbers their rookies will be scheduled to wear this upcoming season. The main reason for the anticipation? Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s college jersey number was 13 — a direct conflict with the team’s retired No. 13 courtesy of first ballot Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino.
Further complicating the matter for Tagovailoa was the Dolphins have also retired No. 12 (Bob Griese) and No. 14 has been claimed by veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick. Even the variant of No. 3 is claimed by 2019 acquisition Josh Rosen.
But now, thanks to the Dolphins’ social media account, the Dolphins have unleashed the full slate of rookie numbers.

The Dolphins will introduce Tagovailoa to the NFL gridiron while wearing No. 1 — so as it turns out all of those preview jerseys of Tagovailoa jerseys on sports retail websites have been active all long. Many players and fans subscribe to the thought that you must “look good” to play good, so what say you, Dolphins fans? Which Dolphins rookies will look best in their 2020 Dolphins rookie uniforms?
A strong leader in the clubhouse for our money? Tagovailoa looks pretty darn nice in a throwback Dolphins No. 1 — we’re just saying.
