Dolphins agree to NFL Draft pick swap ahead of 26th selection

The Miami Dolphins have been tied to just about every hot NFL Draft rumor over the past few weeks. There was a storyline that saw the Dolphins making passes at the Cincinnati Bengals in a potential trade up to the No. 1 overall pick and on the eve of the draft rumors begun to swirl that Miami was exploring the chance to trade up to the No. 3 overall pick — but without giving up their No. 5 overall pick to get the job done, too.

Now, on the first day of the 2020 NFL Draft, we have our answer. The Dolphins sat firm with their first two picks but they did indeed trade their third 1st-round selection.

The Dolphins picked up an additional 4th-round pick with a swap with the Green Bay Packers. The deal will slot the Dolphins into the 30th overall pick in the 1st-round, moving back four spots and picking up an additional 4th round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft in the process. Who will Miami ultimately pick with their last pick in the 1st-round of this year’s draft?

Time will tell. The Dolphins won’t have to wait long to be back on the clock. Keep an eye on safety and running back as two lingering primary needs yet to be addressed.
