Texas A&M wide receiver Noah Thomas entered the transfer portal late last week. While the news surprised some, Thomas likely saw the writing on the wall after coach Mike Elko added three receivers from the portal over the previous month, including former NC State WR KC Concepcion.
Thomas is the favorite to stay in the SEC, as Texas and Georgia have been in contact. Both programs need a veteran receiver and a red zone threat. However, a return to the Aggies is still possible, but either way, Elko and his staff prepare for his ultimate departure before the spring football season.
On Saturday, Ole Miss wide receiver Ayden Williams entered the portal, which, like Thomas, was unsurprising given his lack of playing time after being a top 100-ranked recruit in the 2023 class.
During the 2024 season, Williams hauled in three receptions for 39 yards. While his production was low, his size (6-3, 205 pounds) and potential are intriguing enough that they would fill out the Aggies’ 2025 wide receiver rotation.
