Does recently released WR Robert Woods make sense in Cleveland?

Should the Browns pursue the veteran?

The Tennessee Titans released veteran wide receiver Robert Woods on Wednesday making him a free agent to save cap space. The Cleveland Browns need to add more talent at the position though he might not solve their biggest need. The team must add more speed to the room and Woods doesn’t do that but he does make the room better.

The team also tried to acquire Woods before he went to the Titans last offseason and he is now a year removed from his ACL injury. Woods has been a reliable route runner with good hands throughout his career and could be a nice depth piece in Cleveland.

He played in all 17 games last season in a bad offense coming off his injury so there shouldn’t be lingering effects. He has two career seasons over 1,000 yards as well as at least 500 yards in every season over his career even in years he missed time. If he comes on a cheap veteran one-year deal the team should consider adding the reliable veteran.
