Does Neemias Queta’s emergence change the Boston Celtics’ plans?

Can Queta carve out a role for himself during the Celtics’ remaining regular season?

It is never a good thing when one of your key players gets hurt in the course of an NBA season — especially when that player has had a history of injuries plaguing their career — but the Boston Celtics’ recent loss of star big man Kristaps Porzingis to a calf injury that figures to keep him out for at least a week has at least a small silver lining.

In Porzingis’ absence, the Celtics have had to lean into their bench harder than usual, and the call has been met by players like reserve forward Sam Hauser and to a lesser extent two way big man Neemias Queta, who has shined on the boards for Boston so far in his limited run.

Can Queta carve out a role for himself during the Celtics’ remaining regular season? Might the team even consider elevating him to a full roster spot for the playoffs if he continues to play well?

All this is on the table if he can be a consistent contributor when his number is called, which was among the issues discussed on a recent episode of the “Still Poddable” CLNS Media podcast — check it out above!
