The entire football world remains enamored with the Houston Texans and the drama with franchise quarterback Deshaun Watson, who requested to be traded from what’s sounded like a toxic franchise.
The Chicago Bears have been one of many teams that have expressed interest in trading for Watson, but the Texans have shut everyone down as they remain intent on keeping Watson in Houston. But with Watson making it clear that he wants out, it feels like a matter of when the Texans ultimately decide to pull the trigger — and it’s going to take quite the haul to land Watson.
And that’s a bold move someone like Bears general manager Ryan Pace would be willing to make, especially with his job on the line in 2021.
For Bears fans, it seems like every week there’s a new quarterback rumor to obsess over — from Watson to Matthew Stafford to Derek Carr to Carson Wentz.
Now, we’re back on the Watson-to-the-Bears hype train following a cryptic tweet from Bears safety Eddie Jackson where he wrote “DW4” with a thinking emoji. And the translation is clear: “Deshaun Watson? Hmm…” or “Deshaun Watson to the Bears? Hmm…”
DW4️⃣🤔

Naturally, Jackson’s cryptic tweet had Bears fans freaking out once again over the possibility of Watson coming to Chicago.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a player post a cryptic tweet alluding to something that hasn’t come to fruition. But, at this point, it’s still fun to hope that the Bears are still in the Watson sweepstakes…for however much longer it lasts.
With uncertainty at the quarterback position in Chicago, the ideal, pipe dream of a situation remains landing Watson. But the Bears are starting to run out of options in the quarterback market, which means we could be in for a big move in the NFL draft.
