Doc Rivers has cleared protocols, will make return for Sixers vs. Magic

Philadelphia 76ers coach Doc Rivers has cleared the protocols and he will return against the Orlando Magic.

The Philadelphia 76ers will have their head coach return for their matchup with the Orlando Magic on Wednesday. After missing two games due to entering the protocols on Dec. 30, Doc Rivers will return as head coach of the Sixers.

Defensive coordinator Dan Burke served as the team’s head coach in the previous two games, both wins, and he did a good job in both of those games. Nonetheless, he will relinquish the coaching duties back to Rivers and go back to focusing on the team’s defense. The Sixers are currently on a 4-game win streak with both coaches winning two of the four games so they split the wins.

The Sixers are now sitting at 20-16 and they are the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference so they do have some momentum on their side at the moment. Adding Rivers back to the fold to lead the team should do the team some good as they move forward.
