Doc Rivers gives an update on Paul Reed being in health protocols

Philadelphia 76ers coach Doc Rivers opens up on Paul Reed being in the health and safety protocols.

The Philadelphia 76ers will be shorthanded heading into their road matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks as they will be missing Ben Simmons for a fourth straight game as well as Joel Embiid and Furkan Korkmaz, but they will also be missing one of their depth pieces.

Rookie Paul Reed is out for the game as he has entered the league’s health and safety protocols as the NBA continues to wade through the murky waters of playing in a pandemic. Reed is not one of the team’s main rotation pieces, but with the team missing so many players, it would be nice to be able to turn to him in this game on Saturday.

The good news is, it does not appear to be affecting the rest of the team. They are still set to play games, but it hurts their depth in these games.

“If it was, the team would be in protocol,” said coach Doc Rivers. “They always do the contract tracing and all that stuff and. We’re good there.”

After the game with Milwaukee on Saturday, the team will head home on Monday to host the Oklahoma City Thunder where they hope to be a bit more healthy.
